Sunny Day in Port Huon

E After our drizzly boat-bound day yesterday, this morning, after a quick dip to freshen up, we weighed anchor and motored and sailed in the light winds twelve miles further up the Huon River to Port Huon. We have decided not to go further up to Franklin as it is uncharted and, according to further sage local advice, the channel is not well marked and the probability of going aground is high. Instead we shall content ourselves with a day here. This afternoon we shall paddle the dinghy ashore to a nearby small sandy patch (not quite dignified enough to be called a beach) and walk to the café for a bit of a leg stretch. All is well. |
