This morning we arose at daybreak so as to make our departure from Wagonga Inlet at slack high water, our destination Jervis Bay. The anchor broke free of the firm sand bottom at 0705 and we motored out through the narrow entrance bound by the short stone breakwaters, and over the bar and the gentle south-east swell. A gale warning is forecast for later in the day but for the entire forenoon we have had to endure frustratingly light winds and a relatively short swell causing Sylph’s sails to slat inexorably. We have even resorted to motoring for a bit. No doubt the wind will freshen soon enough.

All is well.
