Day’s Run: 170 nm
The wind remains fresh and steady from the WSW. We have enjoyed another good day’s run of 170 miles and are at last making some decent easting again. It was gratifying yesterday to cross into the next time zone (-6) and advance clocks an hour, something we have not done since turning north after rounding Amsterdam Island, over a month ago now.
As we get further east I expect the wind will start to ease, and hopefully the swell along with it. As it does so I will start to come further right bringing the wind more onto the beam so as to make more southing to start crossing back over the doldrums and into the trades.
All is well.
