Day's Run:  110 nm

We have enjoyed one of our best day's runs for the whole race, 110nm in 24 hours, with the new spinnaker and code zero definitely helping. This has put our new target of crossing the finish line before 0613 (and 2 seconds) tomorrow morning within striking distance. However, winds have been lighter this afternoon then we had hoped for, and the usual pattern is for the winds to shut down in the approaches to the Derwent River during the night leaving boats to drift aimlessly until the wind picks up again late in the morning. So it remains highly likely that this will end up being Sylph's longest Sydney to Hobart Race in her career.
Not to worry, the primary aim has always been simply to participate and to finish the race; the first of which we have well and truly achieved (with Oli contributing a lot more than I had ever dreamed of), and the second goal well within sight.
As of 1500 we have 60 miles to go to the finish line.
All is well.
