The strong winds abated overnight and this morning dawned with clearing skies and the wind light from the south. Looking outside the harbour entrance the seas had abated and looking at the weather maps we should have a couple of days of reasonable winds for continuing to Adelaide. I did a few odd jobs in the morning preparatory to getting underway and at midday we weighed anchor, hoisted sail and departed Grassy Harbour, initially turning our bows south to pass around the southern end of King Island to give us the best angle for making for the South Australia, my home state. We have now clear of King Island, a bit of a swell is running which is making for a bouncy ride but otherwise we are making good progress.

It looks like I am going to miss seeing the Australia Rules grand final. Not to worry, for now I am just keen to finish this voyage.

All is well.
