It was glassy calm this morning. I spent it reading and doing a few odd chores while waiting for a breeze. At ten it arrived, light but in the calm waters of the D’Entracasteaux Channel sufficient to move us along at a couple of knots.  At twenty past ten the anchor was up and the sails set. At twenty past five we dropped anchor in six meters of water next to the Port Cygnet Sailing Club just short of a crowded mooring field.  Kate’s flight had landed at one thirty and she was on her way in a hire car, covering a lot more miles in a lot less time. Half an hour after dropping anchor, while putting the mainsail cover on, I heard a toot from ashore.  Kate had arrived.

All is well.
