At anchor Hog Bay

Wind:  South,  F4 - Moderate breeze

Weather:  partly cloudy, cool

The front came through last night at about 4 am, and as I lay in my bunk listening to the halyards rapping against the mast and the wind moaning though the rigging I felt a little relieved to be in the security of Christmas Cove rather then swinging to an anchor in South Australia’s notoriously poor holding bottoms.  But by early afternoon the winds had eased quite a bit, and the tide had turned, so I decided to save myself $30 in marina fees and head out to anchor around the corner in Hogs Bay.  Initially I anchored a little too close to where the ferry comes alongside, so I have since weighed and move about 300 yards to the east.

The plan is to stay the night and tomorrow start heading south again.  The weather is not ideal but if I wait for perfect weather I will be here forever.

All is well.
