This last week I decided to take advantage of access to the RANSA dock and commence a small project I have been thinking about for a couple of years; namely, giving the head door a face lift. This has involved taking the door off its hinges, setting it up in a quiet spot on the dock, then routing out some of the ply to form a frame around the edge of the inside of the door, then varnishing and painting it to give it a nice clean new look. I gave it the final coat of paint this afternoon and will aim to refit it tomorrow morning.

Last Friday we entered Sylph in another twilight race but did not do quite as well as the previous week. The wind was a bit fresher which was more to Sylph's liking but the start line was also quite crowded with lots of boats which, given my lack of racing experience and Sylph's less than charismatic turning abilities, made for a slightly stressed skipper. Nonetheless, we got through the race without any mishaps and I think the crew still enjoyed the race.

We will be giving the twilight race a miss this Friday as the crew have other commitments. Instead I shall maker myself useful by helping out behind the bar.

42 days to S2H race start.

All is well.
