We are still here in Bahia San Lucas. Since arriving here various factors, not least of which has been my broken tooth, I have had a bit of a rethink about the Plan. I was intending to continue to Guaymas from here, but given that my tooth most likely needs a crown, and that I know of a good dentist in Nuku Hiva, and that there is a beautiful location, the Apataki Carenage, in the Tuamotus where I can haul Sylph out, I have decided to head for the Marquesas instead. The Marquesas are about 2,600 miles from here so over the last few days I have been storing Sylph in preparation for a month at sea. I have a few more chores to do and when they are complete in two to three days I will clear out of Mexico and head for Nuku Hiva. From the Marquesas I will retrace my 2011 route back to Australia.

All is well.
