My blog entry is a little late today. This morning after breakfast I secured Sylph for sea, weighed anchor and proceeded to the fuel wharf where, you guessed it, we topped up with fuel. And it was not unitl 11.30 a.m. that we cleared the harbour, hoisted sail and now, a few hours later (6.30 pm.) have cleared the southern end of Gran Canaria and set course for the Cape Verde Islands, 900 miles to the southwest. We have a nice fresh breeze; hopefully we will have a better run than the past leg, it would be hard to do worse.

All is well.

The fore hatch is closed so back to the settee berth . . . . Zzzzzzz.
