Well this haul out is going better than any before.  The team are good if a bit over meticulous.  But that is better than cutting corners.  I keep busy varnishing, Amarin cleaning and polishing.  At 35 Centigrade it is hard work which makes me very thirsty in the evenings.

The varnish on the boat is stripped back to bare wood and gets 12 coats of Epifanes single pack.  The masts need a two pack polyurethane which cannot be put on in direct sunlight.  So we build a tent which, due to the time it takes to put it together, becomes known as the Taj.  Anyway the masts get 15 coats sprayed on. From straight forward cost these two jobs are 80% of my total cost and no normal boat owner these days has this much varnish; indeed, if any.

My Blakes Victory toilet is made of solid cast bronze.  It is serviced on a regular basis but now needs a complete rebuild.  Which it gets.

We work a six day week.  On Sunday we travel the 25 kilometers to Krabi town for shopping.  And on one of these Sundays Amarin gets a badly impacted wisdom tooth removed.  The only piece of wisdom she has and they remove it!  I could have saved her money by using my Leatherman which has a sharp blade and a decent pair of pointy nosed pliers.  But she insists on going to a regular dentist. Profligate…
