may not sound like it but this is a big job.
First you dig out the old caulking.
Then thoroughly clean out the slot.
Then prime the edges to get better adhesion. Then overfill with new caulking. Then trim with a sharp chisel. Then sand.
Then inspect for any imperfections.
Cut them out, more caulking, sand again.
Repeat this process three times.
Replace all deck fittings.
