A quick haul out

I arrive back right on schedule the doctors confirming that I am good for at least another week.  So I haul the boat out to repair the keel damage from my reef grounding in the Maldives.  And I find lots of other jobs to do.

There has been a boating disaster here in Phuket.  It looks like the final death toll will be over 50.  The captain of the vessel claims he was hit by waves five metres high.  We reckon two metres at the most.  All of us had watched the weather system coming in from 1400 local time.  It hit us at 1645; I even joked that I had gone to the pub 30 minutes early to miss the rain.  It, and the wind, started at 1645 when I was a quarter way through my first beer.  The fact of the matter is that anybody can look at the airport radar on the internet and predict rain squalls to an accuracy of 15 minutes.

I have tagged on some more Georgetown street art photographs taken during my visa run.  Just because they are nice.

Future plans uncertain…
