The road to Mandalay is rough so we flew in.  It is new year here, known as the Water Festival.  Everybody throws water at you for an entire week.  If you are a Bhuddist you will understand why.  It is a long story.  Anyway as it is a holiday the crowds are huge, especially on the U Bein Bridge.  Made entirely from local teak it is 120 years old and 1.2 kilometres long.

We had an earthquake not far away on Wednesday.  Not much damage, just one temple destroyed. That only leaves 351,564, 257 temples.  Like the one below with the novice monks about to enter the monastery.
