We left the marina and spent a night in the anchorage before setting off at 8am yesterday. After 2 hours we were sailing with the cruising chute up and have stayed with it all night, the wind has been light 8-11 knots from behind. It has been a gentle start to the crossing with calm sea and we covered 133 miles in first 24 hours which is what we expect with the forecast.
We are heading to the Cape Verde’s as the forecast shows a big area of no wind to the west of them by the time we get there.
