We set off at first light to get make the most of tide and current in the Strait, we knew it would be a motor to get out but it seemed like the best option open to us with a potential weather window to head to the canaries from Cadiz in a few days. It was a bit slow at times with back eddies but generally we had the tide with us the whole way to Barbate and arrived there by lunch time. We went into the marina, which is reasonably cheap, as the wind is due to turn to the SW making the anchorage uncomfortable - it also gave us the chance to do laundry etc 😁. We were last in this marina in 2006!
