Leaving early again we had a good start to the sail but come early afternoon the wind had died and gone more northerly so we ended up motoring for the afternoon arriving in Naxos and anchoring with some protection from the swell, the town wasn’t pretty but it was made up for with Mount Etna behind it, the nearby town of Taormina is meant to be great to visit but sadly we didn’t even get ashore as the anchorage turned very rolly and by the second day I had a migraine and once I had taken enough medication to get rid of it we had had enough and decided to head off up through the Messina straights!
