We had a fast passage north, helped greatly by the Gulf Stream which give is an extra 3-4 knots speed for about 36 hours, we did the 500 miles in less than 62 hours arriving after it got dark We motorsailed more than we would have liked including today as we were trying and get in before it was pitch dark - which we failed to achieve! We saw some dolphins on route - Steve had a few visit him on his shifts and today we had 4 spotted dolphins playing and showing off for quite some time.
We will spend a few days at Beaufort before heading inland along the intercostal waterway up to the Chesapeake.
