Wind has been light and we have had to use the motor for some of the time! During the night there was a fair amount of ship and fishing vessel activity, in the early hours we passed close to a fleet of 26 French fishing boats who were all pair trawling - how on earth anyone can think this is sustainable fishing we will never know - its more like pillaging the ocean! Below are their AIS (Automatic Identification System) signals and tracks! They were spread out over about 5 miles and clearly fishing in pairs, the vessels varied from about 17m to 25m long - all in all a rather depressing sight.
