All is good on board, we had a very uncomfortable night with waves from different directions and although not that big, about 3 meters, every so often there was a group of bigger, closer together ones! The squalls continue although less frequently. We did revert to using the autopilot for quite a few hours when the windpilot wasn’t able to maintain a course and kept heading too far upwind, probably struggling due to how the sails were set out on poles and we were trying to maintain as straight a course as possible despite wind shifts, so more user malfunction !
Today the winds have lightened a bit and the sea is slightly better. In the night a French yacht popped up on AIS- we have seen them a couple of times since first noticing them leave Mindelo an hour or so after us, currently they are a couple of hours ahead of us.
We currently have about 230 miles to go 👏.
