After a very flat peaceful night we woke to be treated to lovely blue water and warm sunshine,
On the shore we could see some sword fish boats - the sword fish season is only between May and August so the specialist boats with massive spotting masts and long bow protusions are laid up for the rest of the year.
I found an old picture from 2005 when we were last here and saw one at work with the spotters up at the top of the mast structure!.
With no wind we motored along the coast to the town of Milazzo and anchored.
Milazzo is a large port with an oil terminal and frequent ferries / fast cats etc to the Aeolian islands. Steve dropped me ashore to do a bit of provisioning for fresh food, he didn’t come as dinghy access wasn’t great and the wash from the numerous ferries and ships made it a bit hazardous for the dinghy to be left!
We were more than ready to leave the next morning.
