What a start to the day, fifty, yes I miscounted, 50 metrs of chain up by hand...very fetching in my yellow latex glovesand coughing my heart out with effort on the foredeck..lol.

The emergency elektrikery started first pull and after running it for ten minutes the engine started. We have forward motion and I got the chain up, which took thirty minutes including numerous 'breathing breaks'.

No wind but the gennaker is out. I daren't increase engine rpm in case I lose the forward drive and the tide hasn't yet turned so we're making approximately 0.5kt SOG, but that will improve.

Oh well, it's all promising. Farewell Larantuka, despite everything I enjoyed my stay here, the people make a place, don't they?
