At anchor.
Got to the Customs wharf about 1200 local, then spent most of the afternoon being checked in, filling in forms etc. Anyway, that was done and Legend 2 (cathy 7 Werner) dropped by. They had walked in from where they had anchored (no, they took the dingy ashore, don't be silly), which turned into a 7 mile walk, so they asked if we were going round to the anchoeage instead of staying in Neiafu would we give them a lift. Yes we would, so we got here about 1700 local, to be greeted by Joule mooning us on arrival. You meet the nicest people cruising :)
Tomorrow morning up the mast, then into town for the start of the week-long festival, which looks a lot of fun (particularly the Full Moon Party on Saturday).
The area arpond Neiafu is really attractive, a little reminiscent of Poole Harbour, actually. Lots of wooded shoreline and a few sandy beaches. The locals are all particularly friendly and although you are straight back into the Third World walking around Neiafu it has a real charm; haven't attempted any shopping yet, so no idea of prices/availability.
