Here we go round the merry go-round

Or rather we did, I've put a stop to it.
Martin won't run the engines until they are connected up to the starter batteries and the alternators are connected up in case the alternators diodes 'get damaged'.
Arun won't connect up the starter batteries or alternators because Martin disconnected them in the first place and he is convinced that the engines won't work and somehow Martin will blame him.
The second starter motor is still not on board. Arun has been working out of Suva all week (which apparently was pre-arranged) so was lying through his teeth when he said he'd come to the boat mid-week. He now tells me he'll come down on Sunday, no doubt for his customary half-day.

To break the circle I'm arranging for another electrician to wire up batteries/alternators before the weekend. Of course, this does mean that Martin will actually have to start the engines and produce the other starter motor. Crunch-time in Dodge City. Also, today we'll be moving the boat to a deep-water berth and tomorrow fitting the rudders. To save any further pissing-about I've hired two divers to fit them (F$120).

I can't begin to express how frustrating this all is. To cap it all the eather is cold and damp, as in people wearing long-sleeved shirts, long trousers and fleeces and I had a quick burst of the lurgie. Luckily I put on about four layers of clothing last night and sweated it out.
