AT LAST!!!!! The wind has backed to the South East, we're reaching in a F4 with the full main & Gennaker up, between 6.5 & 7.5 kts over the ground with 185 nm to go. We anticipate 'crossing the line' (the Equator) around late morning tomorrow and Galapagos (Cristobal) early in the evening, hopefully whilst still light. Helen is duty cook today so She's going to make the carrot cake mix we brought in Las Perlas and I'll put the fizzy white in the fridge.
We have closed the gap on Delicado who are now 43 miles ahead of us and I reckon we 'should' make up another ten or so (maybe).
All well on board, fishing for supper at the moment, a couple of nibbles but no commited biters so far, I'm still hoping to catch some smoked salmon to go with the fizz but I'm told this is unlikely :)
