Yesterday, Day One was obviously the most dramatic in terms of deconstruction but Tuesday saw the shuttering prep work each side of the front pilings. The boys are a hard-working, happy bunch and we love to hear them chatter. Extremely respectful (not for our benefit) when they talk about the boss always using Mr. Drysdale. By the end of the day all the wooden, support beams were in place.

Wednesday saw Barry White (Baldwin) with the ‘Big Boy’ tool trimming down the piling.

Cutie (Benji) carried in sheets of ply as if they were ice cream wafers as Captain (Lashley) nailed them in place. It is wonderful to watch as they seamlessly take charge of their respective jobs, nary a word needed to be spoken, no one bothered who was ‘in charge’ of a particular job so long as it was completed....

I simply love this picture.

Friday - the rods went in for the cement strengthening. At 12:45 the concrete man came to measure up, six cubic yards are coming on Tuesday after Bank Holiday Monday (no one allowed on the beach). We sent the boys off with six beers each to enjoy and bade them a good, long rest. Captain went off beaming with the bed head and chopped off foot as his weekend project.

ALL IN ALL A REAL JOY TO WATCH AND BE WITH SUCH A SMASHING TEAM
INCREDIBLY EFFICIENT AND GOOD QUALITY WORKMANSHIP
