After a lazy start - we woke at our usual time but it was now an hour later doe to being on Spanish time, we decided to see the town. We needed a few provisions and so we launched the dinghy and set off. I went to the marina office to get the Wi-Fi code, even though we weren't staying in the marina (they actually gave us the wrong code - so that wasn't very helpful!), and John moored the dinghy.
The town is small and very Spanish. The centre of the town is a small square with a church and a few bars and restaurants.

The streets are lined with restaurants and we checked out a few menus as we will eat in town tonight. The problem with many of these places is that most of the restaurants sell the same type of food, and more often than not at the same price so it is very difficult to choose one over another. Even if you do decide on the basis of price, all the fish comes from the same place, the river outside, and won't necessarily be any better because you pay more, or the restaurant has linen tablecloths rather than plastic tables and chairs. Choosing is entirely pot-luck - if there are lots of locals that's always a good sign. There are few English people here, the town mostly caters for Sevillianos on holiday.
After a strange Spanish style cappucino in the square - black coffee with whipped cream on top, we headed back to make a picnic lunch to take to the beach. We only went across the bay as there was a large area of deserted beach just waiting for us.

After lunch we went further up the river - the river is navigable by yacht to the next village, but when we arrived there was a marina which had no obvious dinghy dock and which looked a long way from the town. We headed back down and beached the dinghy for a stroll along the sand dunes - lovely except for the damn sand flies buzzing around - it was a short walk!! Post ice cream break we went back to the boat to find that she had drifted about 80m from where we had left her and was sitting mid-channel!! We pulled up the anchor, moved slightly downriver, re-set it and hopefully when we get back from dinner she will be waiting for us where we left her!
We wandered around the town for a while whilst deciding where to eat. We finally settled on a tapas style cafe where you went to the bar, the food was either preprepared or cooked on the spot & then you carried it outside your table. John wasn't sure about the self-service part of the deal, but had to agree that the food was fantastic!
