Approaching Salvador, Brazil, 13 08.4S 37 59.0W

Today's Blog by David (Time zone: UTC – 3.0 )

We are now approaching  Salvador – we are about about 25 miles off. We will arrive there in the early evening UK time.

After flying the Frog for about 48 hours since we last blogged, we took it down last night against a strengthening wind forecast. Well, in fact the wind died and we have been  motoring now for about 10 hours.  Deepest joy.

It is also chucking it down and has been for about 3 hours. Squall after squall runs up behind us – usually two or three abreast – makes sure we are surrounded then dumps on us – Big Time. At least it will save washing the salt off with the hose when we arrive!

Fishing report

One more small Yellow Fin tuna, and then yesterday Rudi caught our first Blue Fin tuna. This is the fish that the Japanese prefer for the sushi which is why there are so few of them these days!   See how blue the back is.

Sashimi for lunch ….Mmmmmm!
