We are very nearly famous

18th October 2022 – Lagos marina arrivals pontoon

We are still stuck in Lagos awaiting our freezer delivery. It is currently travelling between Strasbourg and Saarbrucken which is good news. The bad news is that we have overstayed our welcome at Lagos and had to vacate our berth. Although that sounds very dramatic it was a logistics issue. When we arrived we told the marina that we would probably be here for 3 to 4 days unfortunately due to the freezer issues we have been here 9 days so far and our temporary berth has a pre booking coming in tomorrow for a long stay. We have moved to the arrivals pontoon where we can stay until we finally get everything delivered. We have water and electricity here so all is still comfortable, the only down side being that we tend to get rafted on as boats wait for the bridge to open. Of course the upside is that Norma gets a steady supply of new friends to speak to, currently she is on deck discussing the college plans for an Americans daughter who came over to say hello.

The articles and facebook posts regarding the Orca incident have culminated in Newsweek writing an article on our experience. I have supplied the link below but be warned they have dramed it up a bit. In return for giving them more details they promised to provide a link to our Share the Dream book and to this blog so I am expecting a rush of sales and a possible Booker nomination any day now.

Listening to Norma the conversation has moved on to his permanent mooring in Staten Island which is vacant as he is long term cruising. Now that’s more interesting than college plans so I’m going to say hello.

Bye for now --------
