We arrived in Forteleza on Wednesday (2nd April) and are moored at the Marina Park hotel - which has a fabulous pool, which we are enjoying.

The city is a bit of a dump, but I did discover a wonderful very glam shopping centre, and did what all women need to do in Brazil - bought some stunning sandles and a new bikini! We also did the usual grocery shopping and have bought fule and spares.

The three of us are well into the rhythm of life on board a yacht in the tropics ...i.e. frequent stops, regular swims and lots of liquids. Indigo is looking like a real cruiser, with bits of laundry regularly hanging from the lines and lots of diesel cans on the back. We are preparing ourselves for the long trek north west to Tobago (about 3000km, and 15 days). There is very little wind (damn doldrums!) , and so we expect to motor quite a bit until our first and only rest stop at Ille de Salut ( Papillion's Devils Island)
