Kuala Lumpur

We are now in Kuala Lumpur, why, because we have to get our Chinese Visas.

We were hoping we would have some time to see a tiny part of KL, but unfortunately we arrived in KL in the afternoon and the airport is an hour away.  We went directly to the Chinese Consulate to apply for our visas, one hour later we were off to find our hotel.  We took the subway, got off at the right station and then went left instead of right...6o minutes later we were at our hotel ready for a shower and boy did we get a shower... the skies opened up and we had a thunder and lightning show from our hotel window and realized we would be staying in for the evening.  The next day we set off for our interview at the Chinese Consulate, they told us the interviews would be held on the floor below and the interviews would start at 10:00 am.  We noticed you have to take a number for everything, so the next day we arrived at 9:00am and got 6002, which means there were two people ahead of us...the early bird really does get the worm!  The interview took all of two minutes, actually we really didn’t get an interview, and she just told us when we could pick up our Visas.

We had already decided to visit the Aquarium under the Suria KLCC, right beside the towers.

The grounds around the KLCC and PETRONAS buildings are really nice.

This was taken later in the day when the fountains were working.

This is the KLCC the aquarium, cinema, symphony hall and shops galore are all housed in this centre under and beside the PETRONAS towers.

Time for a yoghurt break.

Thought this was great advertising.
