We were delighted to receive an email from Straits Quay Marina that they now had a berth for us to arrive today.   We had been trying unsuccessfully to get a spot at this small exquisite marina on the island of Penang for a few weeks but were always told that they had no room….anyway, persistence paid off!

We had a nice evening/dinner with David and Marian (S/V Kilkea) as well as starting out earlier by having sundowners on Kilkea with 2 other Canadian couples who we had not bet before…one couple from Calgary and one from Vancouver…..both staying here in this marina on a long term basis.

Not more to say tonight…time for sleep!! …in air conditioned comfort if all goes well as we are plugged into shore power…..last night was very uncomfortable at anchor with the heat and humidity and no air con….really not smart to run the generator all night long to cool the boat….but it was close to needing to make that happen…..all good reasons for needing quality sleep tonight.

We will stay here at least 5 nights …through Dec 4^th with a departure for Langkawi early on the 5^th…..unless plans change…..this is a very nice place!!!...and the marina manager told me that he could accommodate us for 8 days if we want to extend another 3 days…..we’ll see.
