Well I’ve actually been back for a little while, but being very lazy and getting the house sorted out. All my furniture is in storage, but Will kindly got me a bed and the essentials of living before I arrived. He even picked me up from the bus station.

So now the blog will probably go a bit quiet, as I shall be here for the hurricane season, till early December at least.

But I’m going to have fun catching up with friends and family. Last weekend Liz came down from London and Will drove us  over to Studland Bay to the Bankes Arms for lunch to celebrate our birthdays. On a perfect early English summers day, which this was, there is nothing to beat it, not even the Caribbean. It was warm, sunny, with a slight breeze. The yachts were hardly moving in the Bay and the Solent, and in the distance we could see the Isle of Wight. The beer is brewed on the premises, and the ploughman’s lunch had enough cheese to feed an army. With the company of my wonderful children it was just about as perfect as it could be.

In July I shall be off to stay with Lizzie in London to catch some of the Olympic spirit, and doubtless I shall inflict myself on other friends and family too. Watch out.

And this weekend is the Jubilee, with my lovely neighbours organising a street party.

But first  I’m off to pick up the Morgan. It was “borrowed” by this dodgy looking character last year, he’s down in the West Country, he has to be, hats like that are illegal in the rest of the UKJ
