Malua is at 12:35.9N 61:24.78W at Clifton on Union Island - the southern Grenadines on 29/12/2012
We left Tobago Cays for a short sail 3nm down wind to Union Island and the relative shelter of Clifton harbour. It is an interesting harbour just south of the airstrip in a bay formed by a coral reef, but right in the middle of the bay is a coral island just below the surface. We entered to find the bay full of boats on moorings but were able to drop the anchor in a space clear from the swing of the moored boats but right in the path of the boat boys going to a from from the other vessels. Yesterday morning Denny was woken by the spray from one speed boat coming right through the open port light!
We walked around the town, purchased some French blue cheese from Captain Gourmet along with two fresh lettuces. France is only a few hour away by jet. The other fruit and veg vendors helped restock the green side of Malua so we were again happy and healthy.
The following morning we left to sail northwards back to Bequia for new years eve.
A magical moment on Malua
