Back on board in Ft Lauderdale! Good to be reunited with our baby. We had a lovely Saturday evening and Sunday prior to our departure to Miami on Monday with Jamie, Emma, Jay, Ann and Ted (Emma's parents) and have to admit that it was hard leaving this time because we will miss them all and most of all our beautiful grandson.

We also caught up with Pete and Helen in Ealing on Sunday night and it was lovely to see them again as always.

Easy and uneventful trip over. The fears over tightened security checks for flights to America were unjustified. We did not see any more security than usual. Entering the US in Miami was equally easy and no queues. We hired a car and drove to Ft Lauderdale. Certainly didn't expect the cold weather! FALBALA was waiting for us in good shape. She probably felt it a bit humid inside as we had stored the sails in the saloon and the cushions as the result had some mould on them but nothing dramatic. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the heater going so we went out for a meal then straight under the duvet!.

Next morning was bright and sunny but still cool. We put the mainsail back on, cleaned the boat and did various jobs to put everything back together.

Yesterday was has spent the day driving all over the place to collect parcels, visit the customs office, booking the yard where we are going to be lifted out of the water on Tuesday. I have been running, cleaning and polishing the wood panels.

Today is overcast and still not warm. Still loads to do on board. Amazing how much stuff we stored away when we left the boat in November!

So all is good despite the unusual weather.

More soon.

Love
Mike and Catherine
