Alex arrived yesterday and we had a nice lunch at my normal haunt. On arrival at boat the NATO minesweeping fleet were leaving harbour. We went to the end of our jetty to watch them go, bringing up the rear was HMS Ledbury. Alex and I waved our red duster at her and sang rule Britannia. The captain, officers and crew responded and wished us well on our trip back to the UK.
In an hour our batteries arrive and we will charge them overnight. In the morning we will fill up the fuel and depart around nine o'clock for our five hundred and fifty nautical mile trip to Vilamoura in Portugal.
We will keep you informed of our progress. At present the weather looks favourable. It will be a shame to leave Valencia where we have been for eight months.
